Vignoble Alain Robert

DESCRIPTION

Christiane and Alain Robert were born in families of farmers and winegrowers.  In 1973, they founded their own estate in the village of Chançay, which is part of the Vouvray appellation area, in the heart of the Loire Valley. At the time, they grew 2 hectares of vineyard, a precious family inheritance, since then the cellar and the technical facilities have gradually been expanded and improved.

In 2000 their son Cyril, enriched by experiences in the Champagne and Anjou vineyards, joined the estate to assist his father, while bringing his personal touch to the development of the vineyard and to the wine production.

At the end of 2013 Catherine, Cyril’s sister, also decided to continue the family history by joining the company after 10 years spent working on the left bank of the Loire alongside Jacky Blot (Domaine de la Taille aux Loups), then in the group of winegrowers ‘Bouquet de Loire’.

They grow 37 hectares (92.5 acres) of vineyard, mostly planted with Chenin Blanc grapes on clay and limestone and clay and flint soils, in the villages of Chançay and Noizay.

“Our ambition is to extract the best from the Vouvray terroir, while gaining precision and accuracy in the expression of Chenin Blanc”.
