Château La Caussade

DESCRIPTION

Our family has always worked the vine. At first, as agricultural laborers, they acquired a few acres of vines in the commune of Sainte Croix du Mont at the beginning of the last century, then the Château La Caussade in the 1930s.

Château La Caussade, quoted among the oldest and most famous vintages (Gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of Bordeaux in 1895 and Paris in 1900), it was considered at the beginning of the century as a First Cru Classé by the Wine Merchant in Bordeaux.

Château La Caussade covering 6 AOP (Appellation d’Origine Protégée = controlled designation of origin) :

  • Bordeaux Rouge, Rosé & Sec
  • Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux Red
  • Cadillac (sweet wine)
  • Sainte Croix du Mont (sweet wine)

These “appellations” benefit from different types of soils, and above all, a very good exposure of the vines. The choice, an important density (vines/ hectare) and the best grape varieties participate in the quality of our wines.
