Château Redortier

DESCRIPTION

The Menthon family has been working on Château Redortier since 1956. In Suzette, a charming village between Mont Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail (in the Vaucluse), Thirty hectares are planted with Syrah and Grenache on terraced hillsides between 350 and 500 m above sea level, in a splendid and preserved setting where you can find vines and forests. The property extends over four appellations: Ventoux (1 ha), Côtes du Rhône (1 ha), Beaumes de Venise (25 ha) and Gigondas (3 ha).

The Château Redortier was a historical site. Destroyed in the XVIII century, its old stones were reused to build the present property. In 1956, Etienne de Menthon, agricultural engineer, and his wife installed there and started with the vineyard. In 1981, the size of the estate and its vineyards allowed them to build their own winery and to make their first wine.

Today, the farm retains its family character, since their three children, Sabine, Isabelle and Michel occupy their tour of the Domain.
