Domaine La Soumade

DESCRIPTION

By 1990, this passionate winegrower, André Romero, had achieved his long-cherished ambition of selling his entire production in bottle. And in 1996, was joined by his son Frédéric, who obtainedhis Diploma in viticulture and oenology.

A new modern winery was built in 2002, the same year that they started a partnership with their consultant, StéphaneDerenoncourt.Stéphane encouraged them to adopt gentler and more finely-tuned vinification techniques, to better reflect the unique expression and potential of the terroir. Without doubt, the wines have achieved greater finesse and purity and today they export 50% of the production.

As of today, the estate covers 30 hectares in the commune of Rasteau and an additional hectare in Gigondas – a small terraced vineyard near the Dentelles de Montmirail.
